New Business Venture: The Loop

One of our members has just launched a nice website to promote his new company and their first, innovative product: The Loop ™.

Joe Eckstein, President of EmpowerUs Tools Corp., is the inventor of this interesting product (and he and his mother are faithful attendees at the traditional Latin Mass in Rochester).

So, if you’re looking for a unique promotional item for conferences or organizational events, this is a good choice. It allows ample space for a slogan and company logo.

It’s nice to see “pen and ink technology” getting some deserved attention also in this age where keyboards do all of our writing. When you need to jot a note or sketch out some thoughts — hand-written communication is the best possible choice, and that’s a scientific fact.

Letter from Bishop Clark to Una Voce Rochester

We received a nice letter from Bishop Clark this week. Over the past 17 years or so, our Una Voce chapter has had a traditional Latin Mass offered for Bishop Clark each year (with special thanks to Mrs. Jean Lloyd who scheduled these Masses and sent a card to Bishop Clark every year). We’ve received many notes of thanks from the bishop through the years and this possibly the last one, at least in his capacity as bishop.

Dear Friends,
Thank you very much for the gift of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Though the years, Una-Voce has been most kind to me and I hope that you will keep me in your prayers as I end my last full year as Bishop of Rochester.
May all of you enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer.

Tridentine Latin Mass in Corning NY, Sunday August 7th

On Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 1:45 pm a Tridentine Latin Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s in Corning, NY. Fr. Johannes Michael Mary from the Franciscan community in Endicott will be the celebrant.

There have been some requests for the background on the restoration of the Latin Mass in Rochester since the introduction of the New Rite in the late 1960s. This post will be an attempt to give a history of the events.

Update: 8/1/2011 — We’re working on a series of interviews from local Catholics who lived through the post-Vatican II history in the Rochester area.

Update: 9/6/2011 — This is a much bigger project than anticipated.

Latin Mass in Rochester

Reviewing site-statistics and search-terms, it’s been great to see a good number of people searching for this site — and we assume, looking for the Latin Mass in Rochester.

As things stand today, there’s really only one authorized traditional Latin Mass on Sundays (1:30 p.m.) in the diocese.

If you haven’t attended a Latin Mass at St. Stanislaus yet, please consider this post a welcome and an encouragement to do so.

Una Voce Rochester members gather in the main vestibule of the church before and after Mass where we offer some missals and Catholic books for sale — and a chance to have a bit of conversation with other Latin Mass community members. Feel free to visit us there also.
